Poem: To the Crescent Stolen
By An Ran Translated by: Hendan
You are still there
On the dome in blue
In the garden of seven heavens,
On the longing gaze of Prophet looking for it,
In the bright yet lonely grave of martyr,
In the empty shelter of the poor.
The moon there
As virtuous as narcissus.
You are still there
In the abyss of tears,
Pulled away
Behind hazy silence
In a heartless way
When this existence went into exile,
Descendants of Cain
Are making the ancient tragedy again,
Yet, you are still at that very point
Deep in heart
In that unbreakable Holy temple
Note:
China authorities want to create a “sinicize” Islam. Islamic domes crescent and signs in Arabic are being pulled down including the famous Id Kah Mosque. Id Kah is the largest mosque in China. This poem dedicated to it.
